Atlanta Track Club × Atlanta Public Schools

A partnership at this site since 2017.

The proposed indoor center is not a new relationship — it's the next chapter of one that APS and Atlanta Track Club have built together at the Cheney parcel for nearly a decade.

1996
Olympic warmup track

The Cheney site serves as the warmup track for the Centennial Olympic Games — Atlanta's surviving Olympic legacy asset at this location.

2017
Resurfaced with Atlanta Track Club support

Atlanta Track Club contributes roughly half a million dollars to resurface the outdoor 400m oval and brings it back into community use. The Track Club begins programming the track under an APS permit.
